Robinhood Markets (HOOD) surged Thursday as a wave of bullish analyst coverage added fuel to the stock. Morgan Stanley upgraded HOOD to Overweight with a $150 price target, while Scotiabank initiated coverage with a Sector Outperform rating and $136 target. Piper Sandler also raised its target to $145. Analysts pointed to Robinhood’s expanding product lineup and growth opportunities, including prediction markets, options and cryptocurrency trading, helping drive renewed enthusiasm for the shares.

HOOD jumped 16.57% to $124.72 on heavy volume, breaking decisively above the prior resistance area around $117–$120. The technical picture strengthened along with the breakout: price is trading above all four moving averages, PPO is accelerating higher with an expanding positive histogram, and +DI surged to 36.89 while –DI fell to 14.02, signaling strong bullish momentum. Relative strength versus the S&P 500 is also rising. After such a large one-day advance, some consolidation or profit-taking would not be surprising, but holding the $117–$120 breakout area would keep the bullish setup intact, with the next areas of potential resistance around $127.50–$130 and then $135.
Wishing you the best,
Wendy
