Ford Motor Company (F) is facing renewed concerns over vehicle quality and production challenges. The automaker recently announced a recall affecting approximately 41,748 Expedition SUVs and Super Duty trucks because of potentially defective headlights. This follows another recall involving more than 223,000 trucks over fuel-tank issues. Ford also reported a 6.6% decline in third-quarter vehicle sales and disclosed a supplier-related disruption affecting F-150 production. Although the company reported strength in its truck and hybrid lineup, recurring recalls and manufacturing challenges continue to raise questions about costs and operational efficiency.

Ford’s technical picture remains bearish, with shares trading near $12.25 and below the 8-, 21-, and 55-day exponential moving averages. The averages remain aligned in a bearish configuration, while the PPO is below zero, indicating continued downward momentum despite some recent improvement. The ADX stands near 39.75, suggesting a strong trend, with the negative directional indicator significantly above the positive indicator. RSI near 37 leaves some room for additional downside before reaching oversold territory. Continued weakness below the short-term moving averages could favor a PUT opportunity, although traders should watch for a possible rebound as selling momentum begins to moderate.
Wishing you the best,
Wendy
