Gilead Sciences (GILD) stood out in Tuesday’s weak market, climbing 3.25% to $143.44 and closing near its high of the day. The move extends GILD’s winning streak to six sessions and pushes the stock through the $139–$140 resistance area that had contained several previous advances.

The technical picture has strengthened considerably. GILD is trading above its 8-, 21-, 55- and 233-day moving averages, which are now bullishly aligned.

The PPO has accelerated higher above its signal line with an expanding positive histogram, showing increasing upside momentum. ADX has also risen to 25.87, while +DI at 31.78 is well above -DI at just 9.34, suggesting the bullish move is developing meaningful trend strength.

GILD is now approaching resistance in the $144–$148 area. A convincing move through that zone could put the February highs near $153–$154 back into play. Traders may want to watch whether today’s breakout can hold and whether the stock can continue showing relative strength even if the broader market remains under pressure.

Wishing you the best,

Wendy
