Micron Technology surged more than 12% Tuesday after renewed optimism surrounding artificial intelligence infrastructure spending fueled a broad rally across semiconductor stocks. Investors continue to expect hyperscale companies to spend aggressively on AI data centers, a trend that directly benefits memory manufacturers like Micron, whose high-bandwidth memory products are essential for next-generation AI processors. The strong performance also reflected improving sentiment across the chip sector as investors looked ahead to upcoming technology earnings and further updates on AI demand.

From a technical perspective, today’s rally significantly improved Micron’s near-term outlook. Shares rebounded from their recent pullback and closed back above both the 20-day exponential moving average and the 50-day simple moving average on solid trading volume, indicating buyers stepped in at an important support area. The next hurdle is resistance near the R1 Pivot around $1,087, where the stock will need to attract additional buying to resume its longer-term uptrend. As long as Micron can hold above its key moving averages, today’s breakout may mark the beginning of a renewed advance rather than simply a short-lived relief rally.
Wishing you the best,
Wendy
