A recent report highlighted the company’s Autoship subscription program, which accounts for approximately 84% of sales, providing a dependable revenue stream despite slower growth across the broader pet products market. Chewy is also expanding its veterinary services while pursuing improved profitability through advertising, automation, and operational efficiencies. These initiatives could support longer-term growth and stronger customer retention, although no new company-specific announcement has been confirmed as the catalyst behind Wednesday’s rally.
CHWY surged 5.68% Wednesday to close at $20.83, extending its rebound from recent lows. The stock moved above its 55-day EMA, while the 8-day EMA crossed above the 21-day EMA, signaling improving short-term momentum. The ADX stands at 28.61, with bullish directional movement leading bearish movement by more than nine points. RSI has climbed to 59.68, and the PPO has made a bullish crossover with an expanding positive histogram, supporting the developing reversal. Although the shorter EMAs have not yet fully aligned above the 55-day EMA, the strengthening indicators suggest potential for additional upside if buying momentum continues.
