After the big drop and AI selloff on Friday, markets are looking to try to recover. Today will be a minefield but there are a couple tickers and strategies we want to look at in the unique environment.
Morning scans showed a couple tickers that were already feeling downside pressure before Friday’s rout and their moves could get accelerated by the broader downtrend. This could make some nice put trades to scoop up.
Plus, we could get enough of a bounce back to set up an extension of our winner from last week. Let’s look at those ticker and map it out.
A Cheap Trade To Watch
Alberstons (ACI) had been in a slide before the bottom came out and looks to keep dropping. The liquidity is less than ideal but at .68 for the Dec 18 13 put trades, it is a nice cheap trade to grab with a chunk of your account you set aside for higher risk trades.

Looking for one trade a week that you can take even if you have a real life that doesn’t give you much time to trade? Searching for a steady weekly trade to take to buoy your trading and protect your account? This is the way to go and you can get it for just $1. Take a look.
Add to the Watchlist
Another ticker that popped up is Hartford Financial Sevices (HIG). It is one to add to the watch list. It failed to stay above the 200 day moving average and sellers appear to be more in control. If it confirms with a down day, we will look at some options to consider.
Going Back to the Well
With all signs pointing to a bounce off of Friday’s drop. We are going to keep an eye on the SQQQ calls again. If the market fights and fails, it could knock the premium of the contracts we sold on Friday down and make them a potential buy again.
A lot at play and it just makes sense to watch the open and react to how the market responds to last week.
Keep learning and trade wisely,
