With streaming media now the go to for entertainment it has also become a go to for advertising and subscription revenue. And one giant in this space is growing subs and pulling in a profit.

The problem is that the media division is tied to another area that isn’t seeing the same tailwind. With talks of splitting the two in the works, it could set up a nice run for this stock and create a potentially juicy bull trade that could provide a quick win.

The chart really shows how the market is reacting to the news. Take a look.

Comcast Corporation (CMCSA) is gaining attention as the company advances plans to separate its NBCUniversal and Sky entertainment businesses from its broadband and wireless operations. The proposed tax-free spinoff, expected to be completed around mid-2027, is designed to give both companies greater flexibility to pursue growth opportunities and unlock shareholder value. Recent operating developments have also highlighted strength in Comcast’s entertainment portfolio. Peacock delivered its second consecutive profitable quarter, generating $261 million in adjusted EBITDA, while paid subscribers increased 17% year over year to 48 million. Universal also surpassed $5 billion in global box-office revenue during 2026. Although competition in the broadband market remains a challenge, the planned separation and improving profitability in streaming provide potential catalysts for renewed investor interest.

CMCSA’s technical picture is strengthening following a reversal from its October lows. Shares have climbed back above the 8-day, 21-day, and 55-day exponential moving averages, signaling improving momentum. The PPO has completed a bullish crossover, with a positive and expanding histogram supporting the upward move. The ADX has risen to 25.73, while the +DI at 36.48 has moved decisively above the -DI at 21.49, confirming strengthening buying pressure. Meanwhile, the RSI at 64.48 reflects solid bullish momentum without entering overbought territory. Relative strength against the S&P 500 is also improving. A sustained move above the $24 resistance area could open the door to a test of $24.50–$25.00, making CMCSA an attractive candidate for a short-term bullish trade.

Wishing you the best,
